Scholarship varieties and standards
East China University of Science and Technology has set up a presidential scholarship program for foreign students since 2016, providing 8 scholarship quotas each year in order to attract outstanding foreign students studying for master's and doctoral programs at ECUST.
1. Full scholarship: 3 students, making reference to the full scholarship of Chinese government scholarship, for supporting excellent Ph.D. students;
2. Partial scholarships: 5 students, making reference to the Shanghai municipal government scholarship standards, for supporting outstanding master students.
Available majors
The application is open to all master and Ph.D. students. Top priorities are given to students from ECUST key disciplines, of which the study length is subject to the specific programs.
Eligibility
1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and be in good health.
2. Applicants for master’s degree studies must have bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.
Applicants for doctoral degree studies must have master’s degree and be under the age of 40.
3. Applicant is not a recipient of any other scholarships at the time of application.

April 1– May 15 each year

Register on ECUST International Students Admission System http://apply.ecust.edu.cn, choose ECUST Presidential Scholarship for online application and upload necessary documents

2. Copy of passport
3. Highest diploma and certificate: Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English; High school graduates should provide the proof of expected high school diploma.
4. Academic transcripts: Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.
5. Study or research plan: in English, no less than 500 words.
6. Recommendation letters: Two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English from professors or associate professors.
7. HSK certificate (Chinese-taught majors)
